Hello Everyone! Well...the Holiday season is over and Texas
Association of First Responders Charity Wild Game Cook-off is
only 3 1/2 months away. The Cook-off dates this year will be
Friday, April 25th and Saturday, April 26th. Move-in dates will
be Wednesday, April 23rd and Thursday, April 24th. Move-out
day will be Sunday, April 27th. The 2013 Cook-off was our
best yet with 155 Teams, and we look forward to an even better
year in 2014. Your support in the past has enabled TAFR to
continue it's mission of assisting First Responders injured in
the line of duty. With your continued support, TAFR will be
able to reach this goal far into the future. Below you will find
links to the 2014 Rules, Flyer, Entry form and Harris County
Fire Marshal Office Temporary Vendor Checklist. Please use
this Checklist as a guide for what is expected from your Team
to be able to pass Inspection and provide a safe environment
for your Team Members and Guests alike.
A HCFMO Representative will be at our Cook's meeting at the
Sam Houston Race Park on Wednesday April 9th to answer
questions and explain any additional requirements. TAFR's Fire
and Safety Committee will make Team Booth Inspections on
that Thursday beginning at 10:00am, to assist Teams in meeting
the Harris County Fire Marshal Office Rules and Regulations.
The same space/spaces deadline for 2013 Teams will be Friday,
April 4th, and new Teams will be given space priority in the
order they are received with the fee paid. Late Entries will be
accepted until 8:00am Friday, April 25th on a first come first
served basis, and placed in any remaining available spaces.
As all of you know, expenses continue to go up for everyone
and TAFR is no exception. SHRP has raised our parking lot
rental fee for 2014, so the entry fee will remain at $175.00 per
space, but the admission gate entry fee will be raised to $9.00
per person. On a positive note, there will be NO parking fee
for 2014 to help eliminate the confusion between WGCO
Guests and SHRP Guests, and should help ease the flow of cars
off of the Beltway Feeder Road into the parking lot. I think you
would agree that the TAFR Charity Wild Game Cook-off
remains one of the best entertainment bargains around! As in
the past, a Law Enforcement Officer or Firefighter/EMS with
proper credentials will be admitted free at the gate on Friday
night only. All accompanying guests must pay the $9.00 entry
fee. Teams can pre-purchase admission tickets for their invited
Guests for a discounted price of $8.00 each.

form and use Pay Pal on line at www.tafr.org. As always, if you
